Green Zones



The University of Guam has created several "Green Zones" on the UOG campus to provide students with high-speed Internet access and safe, sanitized spaces to study, work on projects, and stay current with their class assignments. 

Whether you need a break from studying and working from home, need access to fast and reliable Internet connections, or just want to get back on campus for a bit, schedule some time at one of our Green Zones!

  • High-speed WiFi Internet Connections
  • Spaces cleaned and sanitized regularly and after each use
  • Private spaces available when you need some alone time
  • Students can use any Green Zone on campus

Students must schedule Same Day Reservations in-person to reserve a space for two hours. Visit the Division staff on the floor where your desired Green Zone is located.

SBPA STARS / Green Zone

The SBPA Triton Academic Resource Station will serve as a space for students needing WIFI access and a computer station to support online learning. Work space(s) have been identified to support this initiative.

Before entering the work space, users must clear through the temperature reading stations.

The work space will go through a sanitization procedure before and after the start of each day and in between use to ensure safety of user and minimize risk of virus transmission. The room will also be equipped with disinfecting wipes and hand sanitizer stations.

RESERVATION PROCEDURES:

Access to the STARS will be based on a first-come, first-serve reservation service. Students will need to fill out a reservation form to indicate the day and time they will be needing access to the room. (Reservation requests will be monitored by the SBPA Connect Team). A schedule has been developed to ensure that only one student will have access to a work space per designated time/day:

Students are given 45 minutes access to the room to allow time for inspection and proper sanitization in between use. If students wish to extend their reservation time, they may indicate this request through the reservation form.

HEALTH, SAFETY, AND SANITIZATION:

All students who request access to the room must adhere to the following safety and sanitization procedures:

  • Students are required to sign in, sanitize, and get their temperature checked at the designated entrance before entering the resource station.
  • Students are required to properly (correctly) wear their mask at all times.
  • Students will be required to sanitize the computer station (table/seat) BEFORE and AFTER use.

NEED FOR WIFI ACCESS ONLY:

Students who need WIFI access only may opt to park in the SBPA parking lot and access Eduroam and UOG-Guest WIFI. Students must remain in their cars at all times to comply with health and safety protocols.

RFK Green Zones

Need a quiet place for class? The Green Zone rooms at RFK Library are ready for you. 

Our Green Zone rooms are single rooms with a closable door to provide you with a private and quiet room to log into your class.

Rotunda Green Zone

Contact the EMSS Dean's Office to reserve at (671) 735-2291.

Computer Lab Green Zone

Computer Center Lab 108

Available hours are Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. 
15 workstations are available on a walk-in basis.  Students can use theworkstation for their scheduled class meeting time. 
Otherwise, the maximum time is one hour and can be renewed in 30-minute increments if no other students are waiting.
