Fall 2016 Commencement
The University of Guam celebrated the accomplishments of 242 graduates during Fanuchånan (Fall) 2016 Commencement Ceremony at the UOG Calvo Field House. UOG conferred 185 undergraduate degrees and 57 graduate degrees.
The commencement speaker will be Brigadier General Tracy L. (Artero) Smith who currently
serves as the Deputy Commanding General for Support, 807th Medical Command. Earlier
this year, she became the first Chamorro woman to make the rank of general officer
in the armed forces with her promotion to Brigadier General in the U.S. Army Reserve
Medical Service Corps.
An alumna of UOG, Brigadier General Smith was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Medical Service Corps through the ROTC program at the University of Guam, where she was awarded a four-year Merit Scholarship and a two-year ROTC National Scholarship. She graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1987. She holds a Masters of Business Administration from Troy State University, 2002 and a Masters in Strategic Studies from the Army War College, 2007, Resident.
