Interested in sports, recreation, and fitness? Tune into the Triton Athletics video podcast!
From learning how to kick a soccer ball to interviewing Triton varsity players to getting Athletics Director Doug Palmer to cut a rug, Rozanna Claros entertained hundreds of viewers as the host of the Triton Athletics & Field House Video Podcast last season. And she's geared up to provide sports fans more of the latest updates and interviews as well as laughs in the podcast’s second season, which premieres live at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 20, on the Triton Athletics YouTube Channel.
Claros, an elementary education major at the University of Guam, said the show has helped her step out of her comfort zone, gain sports knowledge, and meet new people.
“What I love most about being on the show is being able to venture into the sports environment,” Claros said. “Some of the most memorable moments from season one were the times I interviewed Triton athletes. I love hearing their background stories as well as their motivation and inspiration to play the sport.”
For the season two premiere, Claros will interview Triton Men’s Basketball Head Coach Dana Holmes and student-athlete Diane’ “D” Blackmon, who was one of the team’s top scorers in the “Take It 2 the South” tournament this month. She will get the first-hand account for how they prepared for the tournament and what it was like to be back on the court.
“From athlete interviews to our energetic host, the best part of the show is the energy,” said UOG Athletics Director Doug Palmer. “We started the video podcast last summer to highlight our student-athletes and provide an engaging platform for Tritons to stay up to date with the latest news and events at the Field House.”
The first episode will kick off with updates across the show’s three news segments: the UOG Calvo Field House, UOG Recreation, and Triton Athletics. Tune in to learn more about the Triton Fitness Center, free TakeCare fitness classes, fañomnåkan varsity tryouts, and more.
All episodes are recorded and posted the same day to the Triton Athletics YouTube channel and Facebook page.
