UOG Men's Soccer Drops 2nd Match Of Season
The University of Guam Men's Soccer Team dropped their 2nd match of the season in the Guam Football Association Budweiser Premier League to the Rovers FC 4-1 on Saturday night at the GFA National Training Center.
The Tritons and Rovers FC played evenly in the first part of the match, but the bigger and stronger Rovers began to dominate more in the final 15 minutes of the first half and then a Rover goal kick that was one touched down the field to a breaking Rover led to their first goal on a fast break and 1-0 lead at half-time.
The Rovers continued to dominate more as the 2nd half played out and led to 3 more Rover goals. UOG did not quit and scored in the final 10 seconds of the match on a penalty kick as a Triton was taken down in the Rover box and UOG converted the penalty kick to stop the shutout.
The Rovers move to 9-0-0 in the Premier League as UOG falls to 8-2-1. UOG plays next on Friday, March 23 against Quality Distributor at 7:00pm at the GFA National Training Center.
