Håfa Adai Tritons!

Our faculty, staff, and administrators have been working to move all face-to-face classes to an online or alternative format. All of next week, both our students and faculty will be preparing for this move. Please review the following next steps to help this transition:

  1. 1. If your class was online (fully online or hybrid) prior to the shutdown, your class will resume as usual on 3/30/2020.
    • Your instructor will provide you with the modified syllabus and updated course calendars as applicable.
    • You instructor will send you a notice of available modes of student support which will be incorporated into your course syllabus and/or online platform.
    • Make sure to meet with your advisors to ensure you remain on track.
  2. If your class was conducted in person prior to the shutdown, you will be meeting with your instructor on the following dates:
    • During the week of 3/30/2020, you will be able to attend a "virtual field trip into online learning" where you will:
      • Learn about what platform your class will be using.
      • Get the modified syllabus and updated course calendar.
      • Take time this week to familiarize yourself with the platform for the class as well as to find out the updated calendar for semester deadlines.
      • Seek out additional assistance speak to a counselor if you need reasonable accommodations (e.g. ADA, technical support, etc.)
    • During the week of 4/6/2020, classes will resume online as planned.
      • Your instructor will provide you with the modified syllabus and updated course calendars as applicable.
      • You instructor will send you a notice of available modes of student support which will be incorporated into your course syllabus and/or online platform.
      • Make sure to meet with your advisors to ensure you remain on track.

UOG has also updated the academic deadlines for this semester.

REVISED ACADEMIC DEADLINES FOR FAÑOMNÅKAN 2020

  • April 6: Deadline to submit Financial Aid documents. Students can access their online Financial Aid Self-Service page to get information on their aid. You can submit documents through email with some exceptions. For documents that require students to sign in the presence of financial aid staff, Zoom or Skype calls can be arranged to verify identity. Tax forms and tax transcripts require special handling (can be sent through email but must be encrypted). The Financial Aid Office will instruct students on the proper way to submit those documents on a per-student basis. Contact finaid@triton.uog.edu for more information and assistance.
  • April 15: Last day for voluntary withdrawal Email admitme@uog.edu using your GoTritons email.
  • April 17: Deadline for special project and credit by exam for Fañomnåkan 2020 Forms available at the Global Learning & Engagement (formerly PIP) office. Call (671) 735-2600.
  • April 30: Tuition payment deadline.
  • May 15: Deadline to submit “Petition to Withdraw” for Fañomnåkan 2020. The deadline remains unchanged; however, forms should be emailed from your GoTritons email, and the Office of Admissions & Records will manage the required UOG signatures.

In the next day or so, the Office of Information Technology will be sharing more information on the different tools available, and you should hear from your instructor next week.

Only through collaboration and cooperation can we as a community overcome the situation that we are facing in COVID-19. We know that finishing this semester amid our distractions and anxiety may be a challenge, but your instructors, counselors, and fellow Tritons are committed to working with you to ensure we make the most of the rest of this Fañomnåkan 2020 semester.

Biba Tritons! Biba UOG!
