The purpose of emeritus(a) status is to provide a retired employee, or Regent, who has demonstrated a distinguished career to retain an honorary title of the rank of the last office or specialty held upon retirement, as well as allow the for the opportunity to remain active at some level in academic, research, and/or service following retirement. Follow the application deadlines and packet directions below. The emeritus(a) honor was first conferred in 1974, and the current list of emeritus(a) can be found here (link). The University of Guam Board of Regents is accepting nominations for Emeritus(a) Honors per these timelines and directions:
Follow the instructions on the application package to make sure the application gets forwarded to BOR.Liaison@triton.uog.edu. Internally, the review can take up to 35 Business Days and will then be aligned with the next appropriate BOR meeting based on the timing of submission.

Benefits of an Emeritus(a) Honor
A person receiving emeritus(a) status receives the following benefits:
Based on the demonstrated needs of UOG, a person receiving emeritus(a) status who has retired from the government of Guam Retirement Fund may be reemployed at UOG on a part-time or full-time basis in accordance with the statutes and regulations of the government of Guam pertaining to such reemployment.
