Faculty Senate
The Senate represents the faculty in the academic leadership of the University. The mission of the Faculty Senate includes protecting academic freedom, institutional integrity and autonomy, and shared governance; providing faculty with a unified, substantial and independent voice in matters of educational programs; fostering academic quality by empowering and protecting the work of the Academic Review Committees; and promoting faculty development.
The mission of the University of Guam Faculty Senate is to be the vehicle by which the Faculty exercises its responsibility for the academic leadership of the university. Specificially, the Faculty Senate.
AY 2023–2024
Monthly on 3rd Thursday (except as noted above by an asterisk), 2:00–3:45 PM in the Jesus and Eugenia Leon Guerrero School of Business and Public Administration Building (SBPA) Rm. 129. All Senators of the 23rd Faculty Senate, as well as the Chairs of the Academic Review Committees (GERC, UCRC, and GCRC), the SVPP, one of the VPs, and the Senate Secretary are expected to attend.
Semi-monthly on the Tuesday before AP Meetings and Thursday after Senate Session (except as noted above by an asterisk) 2:00–3:00 PM (except when noted by +: 3:00-4:00 PM) on Zoom. Faculty Senate Executive members & Parliamentarian are expected to attend. SCIE Chair is encouraged to attend.
Monthly on the 2nd Thursday (except as noted above by an asterisk), 2:00–3:00 PM— Zoom Meeting access: https://zoom.us/j/91421311445. The SEC, Chairs of the Standing Committees, Chairs of the Academic Review Committees, and Senate Secretary are expected to attend.
