Do you have a passion for numbers and a flair for teaching? We are actively seeking dedicated and knowledgeable math tutors to join our esteemed team at the University of Guam. If you have a love for mathematics and a desire to make a positive impact on students’ lives, we want to hear from you!
Eligibility:
- UOG students (full-time/part-time)

Requirements:
- Proficiency in Mathematics: Candidates must possess a strong understanding of mathematical concepts and principles, ranging from basic arithmetic to advanced topics like calculus and statistics. Candidates must have received a "B" or better in MA203 – Calculus I.
- Experience: We welcome all students, especially those pursuing degrees in math-related and/or teaching fields, who exhibit a keen interest in sharing their knowledge. No prior teaching experience needed, but preferred.
- Excellent Communication Skills: The ability to convey complex mathematical ideas in a clear and understandable manner is crucial for fostering a conducive learning environment.
- Adaptability: Our ideal tutors are patient, adaptable, and capable of tailoring their teaching methods to meet the individual needs and learning styles of each student.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct Tutoring Sessions: Tutoring will be responsible for providing one-on-one or group tutoring sessions, focusing on specific math topics based on students’ requirements.
- Provide Feedback: Deliver constructive feedback to students to help them understand their strengths and areas of improvement.
- Collaborate with Team Members: Work closely with other peer tutors and faculty members to exchange ideas, resources, and best practices for enhancing students’ learning experiences.

Mathematics Teaching Assistant (TA) for Credit (Available each semester)
Full-time and part-time UOG students who want to gain math teaching experience over
the course of a semester can do so while earning credit toward their degree.
Students will need to be registered for the MA-392 Teaching & Assisting Lab course. The course provides practical educational experiences in teaching and assisting with
developmental math classes. It may be taken for up to two upper division math elective
credits.
