Study abroad with NextGen COMPASS!

Increase your qualifications for future careers in the sciences or agriculture by taking courses from larger, stateside universities for a semester! Study at one of our three partner institutions: University of Florida, University of Hawaii at Manoa, or Utah State University.

Cost

The NextGen Program covers: 

    • tuition
    • room and board
    • food
    • travel and transportation
    • other program-related fees, such as the National Student Exchange application and registration fees.
Who is eligible?
  • Undergraduate students in majors related to food, agriculture, or natural resources at the University of Guam, Guam Community College, or Northern Marianas College
  • Students must:
    - Be in good academic and disciplinary standing
    - Have completed one academic year (24 credits)
    - Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
    - have no
     incomplete grades from previous terms

APPLICATION PROCEDURE
  • Meet with the NextGen Project Management Team (Dr. Kate Moots and/or Dr. Rachel Jolley) to discuss your study abroad goals (personal, professional, and academic) and to assist you in identifying a program or courses that meet your goals.
  • Complete the NextGen COMPASS Study Abroad Application.
  • Once you have chosen your university and program or course, contact the relevant university and/or the international representative to give you a coherent guide to the admission process and timelines.
  • Visit the National Student Exchange Office, the central study abroad office on campus at the Office of Admissions & Records in the UOG Field House to discuss general policies and procedures on international study away.
  • Submit to the NextGen Office relevant documents specifically those that entail payments.
