College of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences
The University Chorale was an auditioned group of singers comprised of students at the University of Guam. The group performed extensively on Guam as well as many trips to the Northern Marianas, Palau, Philippines and Japan. From its beginning in 1993, the group specialized in a cappella singing. "Christmas in the Tropics" was their first CD project in 1994 and was made possible by support from the UOG Endowment Foundation, Inc. and the administration of the University of Guam. After graduating from UOG, some of the members of the University Chorale went on to record two more CDs (“Love Tracks for You” and “Voice Museum”) under the name “Native Tongues” with a contract from King Records of Japan.
It gives the past members of the group great pleasure that "Christmas in the Tropics" can be heard all around the island each year. We are very pleased to have these songs available on the UOG website for free download!
