From student achievements to historic milestones, 2025 was a year of momentum at the University of Guam. This year, UOG celebrated its largest graduating class, expanded youth and academic programs, recognized high academic honors, and deepened its impact at home and abroad. From local classrooms to Taiwan’s farms, and from coding camps to civil engineering licensure, Tritons continued to pursue excellence, service, and discovery across Guam and Micronesia and beyond.

  1. 4-H summer camps open for registration (May 9, 2025)

    “There is something for everyone this summer,” said Dareon Rios, an extension agent with the 4-H Youth Development Program. “We’re also excited to be offering some new options this year, including several camps related to math, coding, and game development, and others focused on functional fitness, food dehydration, and sewing.”

  2. UOG Announces 647 Students Named to Dean’s Lists (Feb. 7, 2025)

    Six hundred forty-seven undergraduate students (647) have been named to the University of Guam’s Dean’s Lists for its schools and colleges for the Fanuchånan (Fall) 2024 semester. The Dean's List is an academic honor awarded to students who achieve a GPA of 3.5 or higher during a semester. This recognition highlights their dedication to excellence, discipline, and outstanding academic performance. Each school and college at UOG have compiled its respective Dean's Lists to honor these remarkable students.

  3. UOG Celebrates Graduates at Fañomnåkan (Spring) 2025 Commencement (May 25, 2025)

    The University of Guam conferred degrees to 375 graduates during the Fañomnåkan (Spring) 2025 Commencement Ceremony at the UOG Calvo Field House comprising 320 bachelor's and 55 master's degree recipients. This matches Fañomnåkan (Spring) 2019 as the largest graduating class in the University’s history for a single semester.

  1. UOG Announces Fanuchånan (Fall) 2024 President’s List (Jan. 24, 2025)

    Each student earned a 4.0 grade point average and represent the top 12.5% of the 2,172 full-time undergraduate students who were enrolled last semester.

    UOG President Anita Borja Enriquez commended the students, “Warmest congratulations to all the students named to the President’s List for Fanuchånan 2024. Achieving a perfect 4.0 GPA across all subjects is a remarkable accomplishment that reflects exceptional focus, discipline, and dedication. You are an inspiration to our Triton community, and we are proud to celebrate this milestone with you.”

  2. Twelve UOG Engineering Grads Pass National Engineering Exam (June 6, 2025)

    Twelve recent civil engineering graduates from the University of Guam's School of Engineering (SENG) have successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, marking a major milestone in their journey toward becoming licensed Professional Engineers.

    The FE exam, administered by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES), is a rigorous assessment covering 14 engineering domains, including mathematics, materials science, ethics, and structural analysis.

  3. Leaning in: How Valedictorian Sophie Santos turned challenges into a foundation for her future (Feb. 6, 2025)

    When the University of Guam's Class of Fanuchånan 2024 walked across the stage on Dec. 15, they carried with them not only their diplomas, but also some reassuring words from their class valedictorian, Sophie Santos, as they entered a new chapter in their lives: “Wherever you are is exactly where you were destined to be.”

    For Santos, this quote is more than just an inspirational message. It speaks to the experience of her own journey — one shaped by challenges, self-discovery, and embracing the unexpected.

  4. Inspiration abroad: UOG business and agriculture students tour Taiwan’s bustling agritourism industry (March 20, 2025)

    A group of agriculture and business students and faculty from the University of Guam got to immerse themselves in Taiwan’s bustling agritourism industry during a study-abroad trip in January. The trip marks the university’s third study-abroad experience to Taiwan since 2022, with this one focusing on agricultural ventures that incorporate tourism and environmental sustainability.

  5. A First-Class Farewell: UOG’s Edward Unpingco Retires After 34 Years (May 12, 2025)

    On May 2, Edward Unpingco, a postal supervisor at the University of Guam Post Office, closed the window on a three-and-a-half decades long career. While Unpingco has stamped, sorted, and processed countless letters and packages throughout the years, he has also delivered something far more valuable and long-lasting to the UOG community—a legacy of dedication, care, and connection.

  6. UOG Honors Dr. Judith Guthertz as Vice President Emerita (Feb. 7, 2025)

    The University of Guam has recognized Dr. Judith “Judi” Guthertz for her decades of dedication and service by naming her Vice President Emerita in the Society of Emeritus Professors & Retired Scholars (SEPRS). The honor was formally conferred during a special ceremony held at the UOG President’s Office on January 28, 2025.

  7. UOG Board of Regents Welcomes New Officers and Student Regent (June 12, 2025)

    New officers for the University of Guam Board of Regents (BOR) began their terms on June 1. The BOR elected Agapito “Pete” A. Diaz as chairperson, Mike W. Naholowaa as vice chairperson, and Christopher “Chris” L.C. Duenas as treasurer during its regular board meeting in April. The new student regent is Devin Calvo Santos, following his appointment by the 63rd UOG Student Government Association.
