The SNAP-Ed Program under the University of Guam Land Grant Extension Service invites community members ages 18+ to participate in a free nutrition education workshop series titled Eat, Hydrate, and Feel Great!

This four-class series is designed to help adults build practical skills for healthier everyday living through small, achievable changes in grocery shopping, meal planning, and daily routines. Each class will feature a light and fresh summer-themed recipe.

Community members may register for one of two class schedules:

  • 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. on Wednesdays, May 6–27
  • 3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. on Mondays, May 4–June 1

All sessions will be held on the UOG campus in the Agriculture & Life Sciences Building, Room 125.

Under the leadership of UOG Land Grant’s registered dietitian nutritionist and SNAP-Ed coordinator, Lenora Matanane, SNAP-Ed educators Dianne Sardon, Katrina Nguyen, Niza Mian, and Ella Macatugal will deliver interactive lessons covering:

  • creating a weekly meal plan and organized grocery list;
  • shopping smart on budget;
  • building balanced meals;
  • increasing consumption of whole grains;
  • understanding food processing;
  • reading Nutrition Facts labels and identifying added sugars;
  • setting SMART goals for long-term success; and
  • incorporating physical activity, sleep, and food safety into daily routines.

Participants who attend at least three of the four workshops will receive free wellness items to support their healthy habits.

This workshop series is part of UOG Land Grant’s and the SNAP-Ed Program’s ongoing commitment to empowering Guam’s communities with practical, culturally relevant tools for healthier lifestyles.
