Back after two decades, the Battle of the Bands will bring Guam together for an unforgettable evening of live music, island talent, and vibrant community spirit. Under this year’s theme, “Rhythms of Our Legacy,” the event honors the voices that shaped UOG’s history while spotlighting the next generation of artists ready to take the stage and define the next chapter of our island’s music scene.
 
The Battle of the Bands brings the campus and community together for a favorite night-before tradition on the eve of Charter Day. University President Dr. Anita Borja Enriquez said, “This event adds to the nostalgia for thousands of UOG Tritons from generations ago who enjoyed an evening of musical artists showcasing their talent during the evening of preparation prior to the official UOG Charter Day celebration.”
 
Open to all music genres, the competition welcomes all bands, especially those with ties to UOG, including current students, alumni, faculty, and staff. Selected bands will perform live before a spirited island audience, competing for the Charter Day Champion Band Award. The winner will receive a $1,000 cash prize, with additional cash prizes and trophies awarded to other top-performing bands.
 
The Blue Night: Battle of the Bands event is being organized by the UOG Advancement Office.
