UOG EMPWR Expo to Connect Job Seekers with Guam’s Leading Employers

The University of Guam invites current students, recent graduates, alumni, and job seekers from the public to join the upcoming 2025 UOG EMPWR (Employment and Professional Workforce Recruitment) Expo.
The event will take place on Friday, April 25, 2025, at the UOG Calvo Field House from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. This free networking and recruitment event will connect attendees with top employers in Guam, offering a wide array of career and internship opportunities across various industries.
In spring 2024, UOG hosted a job fair that drew more than 1,000 attendees seeking positions in industries such as hospitality, engineering, construction, utilities, energy management, local government, and the federal sector.
Following that event, the Triton Advising Center maintained momentum by engaging with the professional community throughout the 2024–2025 academic year. The center hosted two smaller networking events under the Career Voyage Internship Fair banner.
“The goal then was to provide a student-focused experience,” said Ron VanDon, Career Advising Specialist. “It gave students a chance to connect with UOG employer partners, explore career pathways, and learn about internship opportunities.”
Looking ahead to the EMPWR Expo, VanDon emphasized the value of preparation and opportunity.
“For the EMPWR Expo, we’re encouraging job seekers to take the next step—whether that’s landing their first job or pursuing a new opportunity,” he said. “We always recommend bringing a resume and dressing professionally to make a strong impression on potential employers.”
UOG students can pre-register through Handshake, a job-search and networking platform for college students. Students can login with their UOG email addresses at https://uog.joinhandshake.com/login.
“Pre-registration isn’t required,” VanDon added, “but it can speed up your check-in process at the venue.”
No pre-registration is necessary for members of the public; attendees can sign in at the entrance on the day of the event.
