The University of Guam Men's Basketball Team dropped a close game to Fairzesh on Monday night, 85-81, at the UOG Calvo Field House, remaining winless in the Triton Men's Basketball League. Team Austability had a slow start against the MicroFriends but pulled away for a dominant 122-90 victory.

In the opening game, the Tritons started strong, jumping out to a 6-0 lead with two three-point shots by Tyler Concepcion. Fairzesh quickly responded, taking a 7-6 lead, but UOG finished the first quarter strong, leading 17-9 after the first 10 minutes.

UOG maintained its lead in the second quarter, leading 35-29 at halftime. However, the third quarter has been problematic for the Tritons in the past, and it was again on Monday night. Fairzesh offense came alive, tying the game at 54 going into the fourth quarter.

Dave Surdoma and EJ Muri got hot for Fairzesh in the fourth quarter, scoring 11 and 10 points, respectively, in the final 10 minutes, to putting Fiarzesh ahead of the Tritons by 5-6 points heading into the final two minutes. UOG could not recover and lost 85-81.

EJ Muri led Fairzesh with 17 points, and BJ Artui added 15. Tristan Valdez scored 19 for the Tritons, and Tyler Concepcion dropped in 17 points.

Fairzesh is now 2-4 in the Triton League, while the UOG Tritons fell to 0-6 and will be the #5 Seed for the upcoming playoffs.

Team Austability, composed mainly of Guam National Team members, started slowly in the nightcap. The MicroFriends played well in the first quarter, trailing Austability by one point at the end of the quarter, 27-26.

The MicroFriends went up by 5 points in the early parts of the second quarter. Yet, Mark Johnson for Austability got hot in the last 4 minutes of the period, scoring 19 points on five three-pointers to push Team Austability to a 14-point lead at halftime, 64-50.

Team Austability pulled away as the game continued in the final 20 minutes, leading 88-63 after 3 quarters and winning the game 122-90.

Mark Johnson led Team Austability with 24 points, while Joe Blas added 19. The MicroFriends were led by Jose Ignacio with 23 points and Ken Brozo with 15.

Team Austability is now 5-1 in the Triton League, while the MicroFriends fell to 3-2.

The Triton Men's Basketball League plays again on Wednesday night with two games:
