The Rogues secured their first win in the Lady Triton Volleyball League on Thursday night, April 10, defeating Au Mana, the two-time champion of the Triton League, 3-1. Meanwhile, Guam Pro 1 had an easy time against Legacy, winning 3-0.
Au Mana started the opening match well, defeating the Rogues 25-23 in the first set. However, Faith Piper stepped up for the Rogues for the second set, setting the tone for the remainder of the match. The Rogues won the second set 25-15, leveling the match at 1-1.
Determined to fight back, Au Mana played the Rogues tough, but Faith Piper’s powerful spikes secured crucial points. The Rogues won the third set 26-24 and captured the fourth set 25-23, winning the match 3-1.
The Rogues are now 3-0 in the Lady Triton Volleyball League, while Au Mana fell to 2-1.
Guam Pro 1 faced little difficulty against Legacy in the nightcap, defeating them in straight sets: 25-18, 25-14, and 25-16.
Guam Pro 1 improved to 1-1 for the season, while Legacy dropped to 1-2.
There is one match in the Lady Triton League on Friday, April 11, with Legacy playing Guam Pro 2 at 7:00 p.m. in the UOG Calvo Field House.
