Fuetsa and Stingrays Gray Secure #1 and #2 Seeds In The Super League
Fuetsa and the Stingrays Gray secured the #1 and #2 seeds on Monday night at the UOG Calvo Field House with wins over the Lady Tritons and Stingrays Black in the Lady Triton Super League.
In the opening game, the Stingrays' civil war took place at the UOG Calvo Field House, with the Gray defeating the Black 58-38. The Gray jumped out to a commanding 24-3 lead after the first quarter, as the Black did not score until the final minute of the period.
The remainder of the game was closely contested, with Black winning the last three quarters 35-34, but ultimately losing the game 58-38.
Maria Paulino led the Gray team with 14 points, while Maddy Ada contributed 13 points for the Gray. Suri Sanchez led the Black team with 13 points and was the only member of the Black team in double figures.
The Stingrays Gray finished the regular season with a 4-1 record and will be the #2 Seed in the Super League Playoffs. The Stingrays Black finished the regular season with an 0-5 record and will be the 6th seed.
In the nightcap, the Lady Tritons started strong against Fuetsa, trailing only 22-17 after the first 10 minutes of the game. However, Fuetsa extended their lead in each subsequent quarter, leading 44-25 at halftime. In the second half, Fuetsa outscored the Tritons 53-32, ultimately winning the game with a final score of 97-57.
Mia San Nichols led Fuetsa with 26 points, while Nicolette Perez added 23. UOG was led by Amanda Uncangco with 16 points.
Fuetsa secured the #1 Seed in the Super League playoffs with a 4-0 record for the regular season, while the Lady Tritons fell to 1-3 and will enter the playoffs as the #5 seed.
The Super League wraps up the regular season on Wednesday night with two games:
