Cook smart and age well: UOG Extension workshop series returns in April
A six-session workshop series focused on embracing aging and cooking healthy meals will be returning to the University of Guam in April. Back by popular demand for its third iteration, the series combines the curriculum of the Nihi ta Fanmama’tinas (Let’s Cook) and the Keys to Embracing Healthy Aging programs taught by University of Guam Cooperative Extension & Outreach.
The classes will take place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays from April 15 to May 1 on the UOG campus.
Led by family and consumer science extension associates Clarissa Barcinas and Elaine De Leon and human services specialist Dr. Tim de La Cruz, each class will cover a cooking topic and a topic on healthy aging according to the following schedule:
Tuesday, April 15
Thursday, April 17
Tuesday, April 22
Thursday, April 24
Tuesday, April 29
Thursday, May 1
Each session has a registration fee of $10, which covers workshop materials and food samples. Participants are encouraged to sign up for all six sessions.
