The University of Guam Men's Volleyball Team defeated Troupe on Tuesday night, February 25, at the UOG Calvo Field House, handing Troupe their first loss in the Triton Men's Volleyball League. The Andersen Bombers also claimed the #3 seed for the upcoming playoffs with a win over Team Elevate.

In the opening match, the UOG Tritons defeated Troupe 3-1, removing them from the undefeated list. The Tritons beat Troupe soundly in the 1st and 4th sets in the match, while both teams battled in close middle sets of the match.

UOG took the first set 25-17, establishing an early 4-5 point lead and maintaining control throughout. The second set was a close battle, but the Tritons edged out a 25-22 win to take a 2-0 lead.

Troupe fought back in the 3rd set, winning another close contest 25-22 to put the match at 2-1 with the Tritons up. However, UOG closed out the match in the 4th set, never allowing Troupe to gain momentum, and secured a decisive 25-15 victory, giving Troupe their first loss.

UOG finished the regular season 4-2 and will be the #2 seed for the playoffs, while Troupe, at 5-1, holds the #1 seed.

Andersen Bombers Defeat Team Elevate, Secure #3 Seed

In the night's second match, the Andersen Bombers defeated Team Elevate 3-1, securing the #3 seed for the playoffs.

Andersen took the first set 25-20 after jumping to a strong early lead of 7-8 points. Though Team Elevate fought back, the Bombers held on for the win by five points. The second set was a hard-fought battle, with Team Elevate overcoming two set points to claim a 28-26 victory and even the match at 1-1.

The 3rd set was all Andersen, as they cruised to a 25-16 win. The Bombers then sealed the match in the 4th set, winning 25-20 for a 3-1 victory.

Andersen finished the regular season at 2-4 and secured the #3 seed, while Team Elevate ended at 1-5 and will enter the playoffs as the #4 seed.

Playoff Schedule – Thursday, March 6

The Triton Men's Volleyball League playoffs for the Spring 2025 season will follow a double-elimination format. The first-round matchups are:

  • 6:30 PM – #2 Seed UOG Tritons vs. #3 Seed Andersen Bombers
  • 8:15 PM – #1 Seed Troupe vs. #4 Seed Team Elevate

The second round will take place on Tuesday, March 11, with all four teams competing.
