The UOG Tritons couldn't score on Sunday night, March 15th, while the KFC Bombers couldn't do anything but score in the nightcap of the Triton Men's Basketball League in the UOG Calvo Field House.
The MicroFriends started their game against the UOG Tritons in slow motion on Sunday night, scoring only 14 points in the opening quarter. However, the Tritons were even slower, managing only 7 points in the first 10 minutes of the game.
The MicroFriends warmed up in the second quarter and scored 31 points, while UOG was stuck in low gear, putting only 11 points. The Tritons trailed 45-18 at halftime.
The Tritons couldn't get anything going in the third period as well, only hitting three goals for the period. The MicroFriends doubled the Triton's output, led 65-28 after 30 minutes of play, and went on to win the game 88-41.
Ken Brozo scored 19 for the MicroFriends, while Tommy Auputin added 17. Rico Taitague scored 13 to lead the Tritons, and Tyler Concepcion scored 11.
The MicroFriends improved to 2-0 in the Triton League, while UOG fell to 0-3.
The KFC Bombers had no problem scoring points on the night, putting up 29 points in the first period, while Fairzesh scored 21, trailing by eight after 10 minutes of play.
Fairzesh heated up in the second period, scoring 30 points in the quarter and taking the lead at 51-50. However, it would be the last lead Fairzesh would have in the game, as the Bombers returned to lead 52-51 and never trailed again. The Bombers were up 56-51 at halftime.
KFC sprinted out to start the third period, scoring 34 points in the quarter and leading 91-74 going into the fourth quarter. Fairzesh tried several times to get back in the game in the final 10 minutes, but the Bombers matched them each time and won the game 117-102.
Kierhoia Wiley led the Bombers with 19 points, while Fairzesh was led by EJ Muri with 39.
The KFC Bombers moved to 2-0 in the league, while Fairzesh is now 1-2.
