UOG to host Help America Vote Day on Tuesday, Jan. 30
January 30th is National Help America Vote Day, and the University of Guam is hosting Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero and Guam Election Commission’s proclamation signing to encourage island residents to register to vote. The event also encourages Americans to volunteer to be poll workers.
While Guam residents cannot vote for President of the United States, the island is heading into the local election season with Guam’s Primary Election in August.
What is it: Help America Vote Day proclamation signing, voter registration, and poll worker recruitment.
When: 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 30.
Where: The proclamation signing will be in the Lecture Hall, College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences. The Guam Election Commission will have a pop-up table from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. outside of the CLASS Lecture Hall to assist with voter registration, information on how to be a poll worker, and answer any questions from students and other members of the UOG Community.
Who can register to vote: Guam residents who are 18 or older or who turn 18 during Guam’s next election day in August can also register to vote at the event.
