UOG and Wakayama University sign MOU for student exchanges, research, and cultural programs.

The University of Guam and Wakayama University in Japan have partnered to provide student and faculty exchange programs, study-abroad programs, and collaborative research, instructional, and cultural programs. Representatives from each university signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on September 4, 2024, at the UOG President’s Office in Mangilao.

UOG’s Global Learning and Engagement Office heads up the program with Wakayama University and manages 125 MOUs with other international higher education institutions in Korea, Japan, China, Philippines, Taiwan and more.

"Through international exchange and study-abroad programs, our students gain invaluable exposure to different cultures, academic approaches, and career opportunities,” said Carlos Taitano, Director of Global Learning and Engagement at UOG. “These partnerships not only enrich the student experience but also prepare our graduates to be globally competitive and culturally aware leaders."
