Stingrays Rout Lady Tritons and BallHers White Beat BallHers Purple To Advance In Playoffs
The Stingrays and BallHers White advanced in the first round of the playoffs in the Lady Triton Super League on Wednesday night with victories over the Lady Tritons and BallHers Purple in the UOG Calvo Field House.
In the first game of the evening, the BallHers White team defeated their sister club, BallHers Purple, 71-60, with the White team pulling away in the 3rd quarter to beat the Purple by 11.
BallHers White took in the lead in the first quarter, 17-10, behind the 8 points by Alana Salas. BallHers Purple came back in the 2nd quarter, outscoring BH White 22-17 in the period with Anslie Sarselejo adding 8 points in the quarter. BallHers White led by 2 going into halftime, 34-32.
Shaniah Aguon and Alana Salas led the White with 10 and 8 points in the 3rd quarter to beat the Purple during the period 22-13 and led in the game 56-47 going into the final quarter. The White won the final period 15-12 and the game, 71-60.
BallHers White was led by Shanniah Aguon with 24 points and Alana Salas with 16 on the night. BallHers Purple was led by Anslie Sarselejo with 22 points and Lovely Nilooban with 13.
BallHers White is 2-4 in the league and advance to play the #1 Seed, Fuetsa on next Monday's night semi-finals. BallHers Purple finished the season with a 1-5 record.
In the nightcap, the Stringrays showed why they were in a three way tie for first place, by beating the 6th seeded Lady Tritons 84-43. The Stingrays came out in the first quarter and blitz the Tritons 29-4 in the first quarter and then beat UOG 20-9 in the 2nd period to lead the game at halftime 49-13 and pretty much have a lock on the contest.
The Lady Tritons played better in the 2nd half, but the Stringrays won the final 20 minutes 35-30 and won the game 84-43.
The Stingrays were led by Madeleine Ada with 25 points while Maria Paulino added 22. The Lady Tritons were led by Amanda Uncangco with 19 points and Maria Duenas added 11.
The Stingrays with a 5-1 record advance to the semi-finals on next Monday night, where they play the #2 seed Acdavate. The Lady Tritons finish the season with an 0-6 record.
