The University of Guam, School of Engineering held its first Free Seminar Series at the School of Business and Public Administration building. This first seminar series, which featured Mr. Harold Force, a professional engineer and chairman of Force Construction Company, Inc. (Columbus, Indiana) informed UOG engineering students of the opportunities and challenges of engineering and construction in the private industries. Mr. Force shared his years of experience in his family-owned company and highlighted some of the lessons he learned throughout his successful career. Students engaged with Mr. Force during a question-and-answer session after his presentation in which he provided them with advice and inspiring words to encourage them on what an amazing field civil engineering is and the countless opportunities in store for them. It was such an honor to have Mr. Harold Force to be the first speaker in the school’s seminar series and we look forward to many more inspiring speakers in the coming academic years.
