The University of Guam’s Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program has once again achieved a significant milestone: reaffirmation of its accreditation by the National Council on Social Work Education through 2031.

Founded in 1980, the program first achieved accreditation in 2003 and has successfully maintained it through each review since. “

We were very firm from the very beginning that accreditation is critical for our graduates,” said Gerhard Schwab, longtime professor of social work. Accreditation ensures the program meets rigorous academic and professional standards, benefiting students and the broader community.
