The MicroFriends ruined the Hall of Fame Game for UOG Tritons on Saturday, as they edged UOG 71-69 in a very close affair, while Northern Construction won over the KFC Bombers 105-100 in another close game in the Triton League and Team Atypical defeated Fair Zesh 87-69 in the nightcap of the Saturday games.

In the Hall of Fame Game (UOG inducted five members of their Class of 2024 to the UOG Athletic Hall of Fame at halftime), the MicroFriends led most of the game, but the Tritons kept it close and had a chance to the win on the last shot but missed it.

In the first quarter, the MicroFriends doubled the score over the Tritons, leading 20-10 after the 1st period. UOG won the 2nd quarter, outscoring the MicroFriends 25-14 in the period and UOG was up 35-34 at halftime.

MircoFriends outdual the Tritons in the third period 20-14 and was leading 54-49 going into the 4th quarter. The MicoFriends held the lead for most of the 4th quarter, and built a 10 point lead in the period, but UOG came storming back and cut the lead to two points with 3.4 seconds left in the game and had the ball.

The Tritons had a open 3 pointer as time expired but the shot sailed over the goal and UOG lost the game 71-69.

UOG's DJ Osbourne led all scorers with 22 points.

MicroFriends open their Triton League season at 1-0 while the UOG Tritons fail to 0-2.

In the 2nd game, Northern Construction opened their Triton Season with a 105 to 100 win over the KFC Bombers. 

Northern Construction led both opening quarters of the game, 25-19 after the first quarter and had a comfortable 57-43 lead at halftime. But the Bombers were not going to make easy, and cut the lead in the 3rd period, by outscoring the Northern 30-20 in the quarter and getting within 4 points at 77-73 going into the 4th period.

Northern would extend the lead again to start the 4th quarter, but the Bombers closed once more but it was too late in the game and Northern Construction won the match-up 105-100.

Carrington Simpson led the Bombers with 36 points.

Northern Construction is 1-0 in the Triton League while the KFC Bombers went to 1-1.

In the final game of the day, Team Atypical outscored a determined Fair Zesh team 87-69. 

Atypical won opening period and went to a 10 point lead in the first quarter, 21-11 but Fair Zesh played a good 2nd quarter, winning the period 18-17 but were still behind at halftime 38-29.

Fair Zesh would come with 4 points twice in the early and mid-points in the 3rd period, but Atypical would pull away late in the period and lead 60-47 and went on to win the game 87-69.

Joe Blas would lead the Atypical team with 28 points and Ben Borga would add 23. Dkson Attan led Fair Zesh with 19 points.

Team Atypical is 2-0 in the league while Fair Zesh is now 0-2.
