The University of Guam will celebrate the achievements of 217 graduates at its Fanuchånan (Fall) 2024 Commencement Ceremony, set to take place at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at the UOG Calvo Field House.
This semester’s graduating class is expected to include 116 students earning bachelor’s degrees and 101 earning master’s degrees.
The commencement address will be delivered by Lisa Carbullido Henderson, an accomplished tax expert, entrepreneur, and mentor with over 35 years of experience in Silicon Valley.
Henderson was the first woman to lead the San Jose office of Frank, Rimerman + Co. LLP, where she advised high-net-worth individuals and businesses on complex financial strategies. She has led innovative companies focused on workforce solutions and professional development. A graduate of Mount Carmel Catholic School, Notre Dame High School, and San Jose State University, Henderson exemplifies leadership and resilience, inspiring others through her achievements and community involvement.
Her story will encourage graduates as they embark on their own professional and personal journeys.
“This Fanuchånan Commencement Ceremony celebrates the remarkable achievements of our graduates, who have demonstrated resilience, determination, and a commitment to their transformative education,” said UOG President Dr. Anita Borja Enriquez. “We are proud of each graduate and excited for the impact they will make in Guam, Micronesia, and the world. Lisa Carbullido Henderson’s journey is a testament to the power of perseverance and giving back to the community, and we are honored to welcome her as our commencement speaker.”
Attendance to the ceremony is by ticket only. For those unable to attend in person, the event will be livestreamed on the UOG Facebook page.
