She is the mother of Dr. Anne Hattori, Professor of History, Micronesian Studies, and CHamoru Studies at the University of Guam. The late Fermina Hattori is also the mother of the late Dr. Margaret Hattori Perez Uchima, who was the School of Health Dean until she passed last year. 

The late Fermina Hattori met her husband, Paul Hattori, when they were both students at what was then the Territorial College of Guam. 

Mass is being said nightly at the Our Lady of Peace and Safe Journey Church in Chalan Pago at 5:30 p.m. No Mass is scheduled on Thursday, October 19. Mass will be said at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 21, and Sunday, October 22. 

Public viewing will be from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., to be followed by the Funeral Mass at noon on Wednesday, October 25, at the Our Lady of Peace and Safe Journey Church in Chalan Pago.
