Message to the UOG Community: "Looking forward to strengthening our academic enterprise"
I am deeply honored to serve our institution, island, and region as the 12th president of the University of Guam – to transform lives and advance communities through Ina, Deskubre and Setbe, in the spirit of inadahi.
When the Board of Regents voted on June 22, 2023, entrusting me with the leadership of our university over the next five years, I received a heartfelt and overwhelming support from many of you, my colleagues, our students and the island community.
Your continued support is crucial as we take on this new journey of improving the lives of our students, their families and the community of Guam and the rest of our Micronesia region.
I want to thank the University’s Board of Regents for their confidence in my abilities to assume the helm. Sen dangkulo na si Yu’os ma’åse’ to leaders and members of the Faculty Union and the Student Government Association, administrators, staff, alumni, and external colleagues for your tremendous support and advocacy.
I also want to thank President Thomas W. Krise for his leadership of the Para Hulo' strategic initiatives and look forward to building upon these and propelling the institution even further.
Over the coming weeks and months, we will be deep in thought and discussions about where we’re at as an institution and how we can continue in our commitment and contribution to the success of the people of Guam and all of Micronesia.
I look forward to working with all of you as well as our island leaders and partners to strengthen our academic enterprise and propel us further.
Biba UOG!
Incoming 12th President
