Graduating seniors with the University of Guam's Fine Arts program will showcase their works of art in the upcoming exhibition, "Reminiscent~Epiphany," at the Isla Center for the Arts, UOG Dean’s Circle, House No. 15, in Mangilao.

The exhibition will will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays to Fridays; and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays from May 4 to June 30, 2023. The opening reception will take place 5 p.m to 7 p.m.  on Thursday, May 4.

The exhibition's title reflects the artists' use of their memories as they explored their experiences and connections.

The gallery is open to the public and is free of charge, but donations are greatly appreciated.

The show will feature the works of 10 artists.

  • Talo’åni Atoigue was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, and raised in Guam. She is an embroiderer who makes art by stitching forms, patterns, and textures. 

  • Andrea Borja, a Guam-based multimedia artist of Filipino-CHamoru descent, uses acrylic, oil, watercolor, graphite and colored pencil.

  • Victorino de la Peña was born in Manila. His passion for art developed from watching his mother's work as an architect. He’s also a caregiver for his mother.

  • Jonathan Jabinigay Hawking is of Filipino descent who was born and raised on Guam. His work reflects how superheroes motivate people to use their skills for good deeds.   

  • Chie Numano is a Japan-born, Guam-based aspiring artist. She combines her love for the ocean and her passion for art in her paintings and ceramics.

  • Hunter Greigh Orland was born and raised in Guam. She is fascinated by showing everyday life through humor, and creates pottery, figurines, and sculptures. 

  • Madison Orland was born and raised in Guam and comes from CHamoru, Filipino, and Caucasian roots. Her painting and sculpture are grounded in nature, her culture, and her experiences.

  • Pauline Paulo is a Filipino artist who moved to Guam at a young age. She loves sketching with watercolor and using digital art.

  • Gleannie Pere is a mix-media illustrator. She has been inspired by a variety of media from a young age, ranging from children's books to anime. 

  • Sydney Prudente is a CHamoru-Filipino artist who was born and raised in Guam. She creates precise human forms for her acrylic portraits. 

The project is supported in part by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Guam Council on the Arts and Humanities Agency, the Government of Guam, and the Office of the Governor, and the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Guam.
