In Memoriam: Dr. Michael A. Wiley

The University mourns the loss of Dr. Michael A. Wiley, who passed away after a sudden illness on March 23, 2023, in his home in Honolulu, Hawaii. He was 66 years old. He and Joan Tagashira Wiley were married for 37 years. Dr. Wiley taught, conducted research, and provided community service as a faculty member of the Psychology Program at the Universityof Guam during the 1990s.
He provided important input to the design of the research lab areas for the Division of Social and Behavioral Sciences while the architecture of the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences Building was being conceptualized. Many students will remember his warm personality and inspiring mentoring.
The University offers our deepest sympathies and condolences to the Wiley family and keeps them in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
