In Memoriam: Olga Szekely

The University mourns the loss of Olga Szekely, wife of Dr. Zoltan Szekely, Associate Professor of Mathematics in the College of Natural & Applied Sciences, on July 13. She was the age of 54 and had been married to Zoltan for 31 years.

Olga held graduate degrees in both mathematics and philosophy and had published philosophical works in her native language of Hungarian. She was recognized by the International Chess Federation as a women’s chess master.

The University offers our deepest sympathies and condolences to the Szekely family and friends and keeps them in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Memorial Service 

A memorial service for Olga Szekely will be held at 4 p.m. this Saturday, July 23, at the Lutheran Church of Guam at 787 W. Marine Corps in Hagatna (next to Mark’s Hardware).
