“We created this grant because we are committed to finding ways to make college more affordable for our students,” said Anita Borja Enriquez, senior vice president and provost at the university. “We want every student, regardless of financial ability, to cross that stage at commencement, and this grant provides a significant stepping stone for hundreds more students to make that a reality.” 

The grant is funded through the federal Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) III, which provides emergency funding to universities to assist students in need during the pandemic. The UOG Cares Emergency Grant is an additional opportunity for students to receive pandemic-related financial assistance on top of the third round of direct HEERF aid to be distributed to all eligible UOG students this semester in amounts up to $700 per student. 

UOG Cares Emergency Grant Eligibility Requirements

• Students enrolled full-time or part-time at the University of Guam between March 13, 2020, to current.
• Demonstrate need and financial hardship

Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 25, 2022, or until all funds have been awarded.
