In partnership with the University of Guam Press, the Department of Military Science at the University of Guam will be releasing its first volume of “The Leadership Journal of Micronesia” next week. The journal features the histories and accomplishments of 11 men and women who have served as notable examples of leadership in Micronesia.

The journal seeks to broaden awareness and appreciation of past leaders, including Maga’låhi Huråo, Agueda Johnston, and Father Jesus Baza Duenas, and to inspire current and upcoming local leaders through the examples of their predecessors.

Editor John Joseph Perez and Co-editor Lt. Col. Thomas Anderson worked with graduate and undergraduate students in the university’s Senior ROTC program to research and write each piece featured in this premier issue.

The journal will launch on Tuesday with a private event adhering to COVID-19 guidelines. The launch will begin at 6 p.m. and will be livestreamed for the public on the UOG Press Facebook page

“The Leadership Journal of Micronesia” is available for pre-order at uogpress.com, and customers can pick up or purchase a copy at the UOG Press office, located on the second floor of the Micronesian Area Research Center on the UOG campus, starting Wednesday.
