Triton Athletics to hold final round of tryouts for varsity sports
The University of Guam Triton Athletics Department will be holding a final round of tryouts next week to fill its team rosters for several varsity sports. Tryouts are open to all UOG students registered for classes this semester.
“We welcome student-athletes of all levels,” said UOG Athletics Director Doug Palmer. “Tryouts are a great way for students to learn more about the sport and gain some experience. It doesn’t matter if they don’t have any experience at all — as long as they are interested in the sport, have a good attitude, and are willing to learn.”
Continuing UOG students must be taking at least six credits and have a 2.00 GPA. First-time freshmen must have a 2.50 GPA out of high school, and transfer students must have a 2.00 GPA from their previous school to play at UOG.
Tryouts are set for:
All tryouts will be approximately two hours. Students must provide proof of full vaccination prior to participating in tryouts. Booster shots are recommended, but not required.
Student-athletes who make the team must submit an athletic physical prior to participating in team practices and outside competition.
To submit COVID-19 documents and for more information on the tryouts, call Doug Palmer at (671) 735-2862 or email palmerd@triton.uog.edu.
