Call for proposals | GECCO seed-funding opportunity
Guam NSF-EPSCoR’s Guam Ecosystems Collaboratorium for Corals and Oceans (GECCO) project is seeking proposals from faculty members for seed funding grant opportunities.
The awards will include support for experimental project costs for collaborative projects within and outside the University or for travel for training that is in support of research and/or advancing the competitive nature of GECCO’s goals.
Multiple seed funding grant awards will be made available with awards typically being $25,000.
Successful proposals will be selected based upon relevance to emergent science, research quality, and a demonstrated potential to achieve significant results that could lead to peer-reviewed publications and future grant proposal submissions.
Awardees will have one year from the award date to complete a project. Because of COVID restrictions that may hinder progress, requests for no-cost extensions beyond the award period will be considered automatically.
Applicants should submit a proposal of no more than five pages that includes a concise statement describing the project including the hypothesis or problem addressed, relevance to the GECCO project, anticipated outcome(s) of this research, a timeline for planning and research, an itemized budget, and a budget justification.
Deadline: Proposal applications should be submitted no later than 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2022.
Proposals should be submitted to:
