UOGEF announces 29 scholarships available for Fanuchånan 2022

The University of Guam Endowment Foundation is now accepting applications for 29 scholarships available for the Fanuchånan semester.

Students have until 4 p.m. on Thursday, May 5, to submit the scholarship application form, their transcripts, and any supplemental materials required by the specific scholarships. Applications may be submitted online, via email to info@uogendowment.org, or delivered to the UOGEF office at House #10 in Dean’s Circle.

Available scholarships this year include the following. Visit the UOGEF website for full details on each.

  • Award: (1) award of $750 for one year
  • Who can apply: All students with preference given to eligible applicants in the tourism, hospitality, and marine biology programs
  • Minimum GPA: 3.0 
  • Award: (1) award of $600 for one year
  • Who can apply: Undergraduate and graduate students engaged in thesis writing (or equivalent) on any topic about Guam and the Mariana Islands
  • Minimum GPA: 2.5
  • Award: (1) award of $1,000 for one year
  • Who can apply: Full-time undergraduate students
  • Minimum GPA: 3.0
  • Award: (2) awards of $750 for AY 2022-2023
  • Who can apply: Full-time students in good standing with a declared major in the College of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences
  • Minimum GPA: 2.5
  • Award: (2) awards of $750 for AY 2022-2023
  • Who can apply: Full-time students in good standing with a declared major in the College of Natural & Applied Sciences. Must be living in the UOG dormitories.
  • Minimum GPA: 2.5
  • Award: (1) award of $1,000 for one year 
  • Who can apply: Full-time undergraduate students in financial need
  • Minimum GPA: 4.0 and must maintain at least 3.0 throughout the scholarship period
  • Award: (1) award of $500 for one year 
  • Who can apply: Graduate students enrolled at the School of Business & Public Administration
  • Minimum GPA: 2.5 and must maintain at least 2.8 for the scholarship period
  • Award: (1) award of $1,000/year 
  • Who can apply: Students who identify as LGBTQ and are facing family or socioeconomic hardship
  • Minimum GPA: 3.0
  • Award: (6) awards of $2,000 for one year to be distributed as $1,000 per semester
  • Who can apply: Full-time undergraduate or graduate students with preference given to full-time employees or children of IT&E Overseas or one of its subsidiaries
  • Minimum GPA: 3.2
  • Award: (2) awards of $5,000 for one year to be distributed as $2,500 per semester
  • Who can apply: All students who are residents of Guam
  • Minimum GPA: 2.5
  • Award: (1) awards of $5,000 for one year to be distributed as $2,500 per semester
  • Who can apply: DACA-certified students who graduated from a Guam high school and have been Guam residents for at least four years
  • Minimum GPA: 3.5
  • Award: (1) award of up to $500 for one year, dependent upon investment earnings
  • Who can apply: Graduate students enrolled in a thesis program of M.S. in Biology or M.S. in Environmental Science (research track)
  • Minimum GPA: 2.5
  • Award: (1) $800 scholarship for the year for a male soccer team player and (1) $800 scholarship for the year for a female soccer team player
  • Who can apply: Students who are part of the UOG soccer team (for at least one semester) with preference given to math, science, and STEM majors
  • Minimum GPA: 2.75
  • Award: (1) award of $1,000 for one year to be distributed as $500 each semester
  • Who can apply: Students with junior or senior status who are majoring in one of UOG’s Fine Arts programs (music, theater, or visual arts)
  • Minimum GPA: 3.0
  • Award: (2) awards of $1,000 for one year 
  • Who can apply: Full-time undergraduate students who graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in Guam and have an undeclared course of study
  • Minimum GPA: 2.0

  • Who can apply: Full-time undergraduate and graduate students who are residents of Guam that demonstrate entrepreneurial interests or inclination with preference given to SBPA students
  • Minimum GPA: 2.5
  • Award: (1) award of $1,000 for one year
  • Who can apply: Full-time or part-time students enrolled in the Master of Arts in Micronesian Studies Program who are residents of Guam, CNMI, FSM, Palau, or the Marshall Islands
  • Minimum GPA: N/A
  • Award: (2) awards of $2,500 ($1,250 per semester)
  • Who can apply: Full-time or part-time sophomores, juniors, or seniors who identify as Micronesian (from Guam, CNMI, FSM, Palau, or the Marshall Islands) who have declared majors under the School of Business & Public Administration
  • Minimum GPA: 2.0
  • Award: (1) award of $2,500 ($1,250 per semester) to a SENG student and (1) award of $2,500 ($1,250 per semester) to an SBPA student
  • Who can apply: Full-time or part-time sophomores, juniors, or seniors who identify as Micronesian (from Guam, CNMI, FSM, Palau, or the Marshall Islands) who have declared majors under the School of Engineering or the School of Business & Public Administration
  • Minimum GPA: 3.0 and must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 
  • Award: (1) award of $1,000 for one year
  • Who can apply: Full-time or part-time students enrolled in the Master of Arts in Micronesian Studies Program who are residents of Guam, CNMI, FSM, Palau, or the Marshall Islands
  • Minimum GPA: N/A
  • Award: (1) award of $5,000 ($2,500 per semester)
  • Who can apply: Students who identify as a Micronesian Pacific Islander whose ancestry is in the Mariana Islands, the Caroline Islands, or the Marshall Islands and are enrolled in Micronesian Studies courses. Applicant must declare intent to pursue an M.A. in Micronesian Studies at UOG.
  • Minimum GPA: 2.0 or higher in previous non-UOG college coursework and a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher in UOG coursework
  • Award: Scholarships totaling $10,000 awarded per year
    • (1) award of $1,000 for one year to a freshman
    • (1) award of $2,000 for one year to a sophomore
    • (1) award of $3,000 for one year to a junior
    • (1) award of $4,000 for one year to a senior
  • Who can apply: Full-time undergraduate students who intend to pursue a career in marine or environmental science. Must love elasmobranchs and be a graduate of a Guam, CNMI, FSM, or Palau high school. 
  • Minimum GPA: 2.0 and must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 throughout the scholarship period
  • Award: (1) award of $1,000 for one year
  • Who can apply: Undergraduate students whose parents did not complete college and who are the first among siblings to attend college
  • Minimum GPA: 2.5
  • Award: (1) award of $1,000 for one year
  • Who can apply: Juniors or seniors who are at risk of not completing their degree due to financial reasons
  • Minimum GPA: 2.5
  • Award: (1) award of $1,000 for one year paid to the student directly  
  • Who can apply: Students enrolled in an unpaid internship program with a non-profit organization for a minimum of 4 weeks
  • Minimum GPA: 2.5
  • Award: (1) award of $7,825 for one year 
  • Who can apply: Full-time students who are declared civil engineering majors under the School of Engineering and have completed at least 45 credit hours. Must be a resident of Guam and show participation in other campus activities.
  • Minimum GPA: N/A
  • Award: (1) award of $1,200 for one year 
  • Who can apply: Full-time students enrolled in STEM majors with preference given to minorities
  • Minimum GPA: N/A
  • Award: (1) award of $1,000 ($500 per semester)
  • Who can apply: Students who are mothers and contributors to the University community with preference given to first-generation students.
  • Minimum GPA: 2.0
  • Award: (1) award of $1,000 to a SAFNR graduate student, (1) award of $500 to an ALS Ag/Natural Resources undergraduate student, and (1) award of $500 to an ALS Food/Nutrition undergraduate student
  • Who can apply: ALS Ag/Natural resources undergraduate students and ALS Food/Nutrition undergraduate students, and SAFNR graduate students

    • Undergraduate: 2.8 or higher after completion of 40 credits earned at UOG
    • Graduate: 3.4 or higher after completion of 12 credits earned at UOG
