In the News: UOG alumna earns master's at a top university in Japan with plans to work in Pohnpei

In March, UOG alumna Annette Ludwig, '19 B.S. Biology and the university's first Doris Duke Scholar, became the sixth Micronesian to earn her master's in global environment studies from Sophia University in Tokyo. She attended Sophia University, one of Japan’s top research universities, on a highly competitive full-ride scholarship that supports training Micronesians for regional environmental leadership roles. Now, she hopes to return to Pohnpei to work in forestry management.
