Human Rights Conference to address human trafficking in Guam
The critical human rights issue of human trafficking in Guam and the Pacific will be the subject of discussion at a conference next week being hosted by the Guam Human Rights Initiative under the Regional Center for Public Policy at the University of Guam.
The Human Rights Conference Series will open with a two-hour webinar at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, followed by a full-day conference from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Hilton Guam Resort & Spa as well as online.
The conference aims to bring together and foster collaboration among human rights experts, academics, and stakeholders in the Guam and region to discuss the under-researched and often unseen issue of human trafficking and how to protect those who are most vulnerable to it.
The full-day conference will feature panel discussions by law enforcement, government, private business, and victim advocacy groups.

Individuals can register for the conference at url.uog.edu/hrcs. Registration is free. Continuing education units (CEUs) and certificates are also available for completing the conference at a registration fee of $35.
The Guam Human Rights Initiative is a collaborative-research nonprofit entity that seeks to advance human rights on Guam and throughout the Pacific through meaningful and impactful research efforts.
