Free online Dementia Awareness Conference Series to be held Nov. 4-13

An upcoming conference series will bring education, training, and awareness on Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias to the community over eight online sessions this November. The Dementia Awareness Conference Series is being offered through Guam/Micronesia Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program of the University of Guam’s School of Health. 

The sessions are free and open to the public in Guam and all of Micronesia, including elderly individuals, persons with dementia, their families and caregivers, and the general public.

About the Guam/Micronesia Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program 

The Guam/Micronesia Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program is a grant-funded program under the University of Guam School of Health to transform the health systems serving the region’s elderly and individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias resulting in improved quality of life. The program aims to fill gaps in elderly care in the region through workforce development, family and caregiver training, engaged community networks and partnerships; and enhancement of the University of Guam Nursing Assistant Training Program.  

This project is supported by the Health Resources and Services Administration of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services as part of an award totaling $757,208 with zero percentage financed with non-governmental sources.
