ROTC alumna takes command of Madigan Army Medical Center
University of Guam alumna Lt. Col. Princess Palacios has taken command for the second time in her career of the Madigan Army Medical Center’s Troop Battalion. She assumes the role after having served as executive officer at Regional Health Command-Pacific.
Palacios, originally from Saipan, received her bachelor’s degree and her commission into the Medical Service Corps from the UOG ROTC Program in 2004. She was also a Distinguished Military Graduate among Army ROTC graduates nationwide.
An article by the Army documented the change of command ceremony on June 14, 2021.
“Lt. Col. Palacios is not only a competent leader, an accomplished Army Medicine leader, but she's my friend, and I'm so happy to be able to hand this battalion over to her. There's no one that I'd rather pass the guidon to,” said outgoing commander Col. Amy Bird at the ceremony.
