The Guam Baseball Academy and the University of Guam Triton Men’s Baseball Team will be holding an eight-week full-body conditioning class for baseball and softball athletes starting on Jan. 11 to get athletes in shape for the upcoming season. The class is open to all baseball and softball athletes over the age of 14 and will be capped at 10 participants.

The eight-week course will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays starting Jan. 11 at the Calvo Field House on the UOG campus. The class fee is $240.

The 24-session program is designed specifically to meet the athletic needs of baseball and softball players, taking into account the need for cardiovascular and aerobic fitness, flexibility, speed, quickness, and agility in the field as well as strength and explosive power, reaction time, ground base body movements, and nutrition. The workout routine for each session will vary incorporating a variety of training tools and techniques. The workouts are designed to help achieve the maximum amount of improvement in a minimum amount of time.

To register, email gba@guambaseball.com or text message (671) 483-6500. An orientation for registrants will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 5, in the UOG Calvo Field House lobby.
