UOG launches month of virtual activities for Charter Day
University of Guam administrators and Board of Regents members join Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero and Lt. Gov. Joshua Tenorio on stage to receive a proclamation at the university’s Charter Day event on March 10, 2020.
The community is invited to join the University of Guam in celebrating its 53rd Annual Charter Day and the month of March as Charter Month. A full schedule of virtual activities under the theme “Transforming Lives, Advancing Communities" will showcase the university’s work across the various schools, colleges, and departments.
The annual Charter Day celebration marks the anniversary of the university’s founding in 1952 and the signing of the charter that renamed the Territorial College of Guam to the University of Guam in 1968.
The event is generally a campus-wide festival, drawing more than 6,000 people to explore educational exhibits and displays and to participate in campus tours and cultural and academic competitions.
This year’s event will feature various online lectures and presentations, webinars, exhibits, a virtual 5K, and a virtual tour of the Science Learning Center throughout the month.
Community members can find a complete schedule of events at www.uog.edu/charterday.
