Support UOG students through AmazonSmile purchases
Amazon shoppers can now help grow scholarship and program funds to benefit University of Guam students at no additional cost. By shopping through AmazonSmile — a nonprofit foundation created by Amazon and a separate site from Amazon.com — users can select University of Guam Endowment Foundation as their beneficiary, and AmazonSmile will donate 0.5% of that user’s eligible purchases to the foundation.
Shoppers can go directly to the UOG Endowment Foundation’s page on the AmazonSmile website at https://give.uog.edu/amazonsmile and start shopping. Not all products for sale on Amazon.com are eligible under AmazonSmile, but the prices are the same on both sites. The AmazonSmile drop-down menu in the navigation bar displays a running tab of how much of a user’s purchase amounts have been donated to the foundation.
“‘Tis the season for giving, and what better way to give than to support a scholarship while buying presents for the family?” said Katrina Perez, executive director of the UOG Endowment Foundation. “This is a fun and effortless way for people near and far to support the academic aspirations of our local students.”
The UOG Endowment Foundation’s partnership with AmazonSmile coincides with the Nov. 5 launch of the foundation’s year-end “G is for Giving” campaign, which seeks to raise funds for student scholarships and UOG programs that help make the university an affordable option for students in Guam and Micronesia. Donations may be made to any UOG school or college or to a variety of programs and scholarships until Dec. 31 at https://give.uog.edu.
AmazonSmile is also available on the Amazon Shopping mobile app for iOS and Android devices. Simply find “AmazonSmile” in the Settings menu and choose “University of Guam Endowment Foundation.”
