Art submissions sought for Annual Research Conference exhibit

12/23/2020

Artists are invited to submit their artwork for display in the 4th Annual ARC Visual Arts Exhibition in conjunction with the 42nd Annual Research Conference being hosted by the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences from March 8 to 15, 2021. The virtual exhibit, hosted by UOG’s Isla Center for the Arts, will feature artwork that conceptually responds to the conference theme “Modern Issues, Traditional Solutions” and generates insightful conversations and novel ideas that evaluate, redefine, and promote the creativity in the Pacific region.

Artists are invited to submit up to five works for consideration and to also write a short statement on how their work relates to the theme “Modern Issues, Traditional Solutions.” Submissions can range from social, political, economic, historical, and cultural visual insights to a more global, eco-sustainable mindset. The short statements should allow the viewer to have additional insights into the work through the eyes of the artist.

All types of media — two-and three-dimensional — as well as videos are eligible for submission. The original works of art must have been produced within the last two years.

Please email jpeg image files of artwork (labeled with title, medium, and dimensions), supporting documents, and resume to islacenter@gmail.com.

Submissions are due by Feb. 1, and artists will be notified of acceptance by Feb. 15.
