Two-time MVP Brianne Leon Guerrero joins Tritons soccer team
The University of Guam Women's Soccer Team signed two-time IIAAG Most Valuable Player Brianne Leon Guerrero to a UOG Athletic Letter of Intent and partial tuition scholarship for 2019-2020.
Leon Guerrero was a four-time champion in IIAAG Girls' High School Soccer playing for the Notre Dame High School Royals. She was three-time MVP of the championship match, and in 2018 and 2019 she was voted the Most Valuable Player for the league.
She scored six goals combined in the four championship games. She was 1st Team All-Island in 2018 and 2019.
Leon Guerrero was part of the Guam Shipyard club team that won the 2019 Guam Football Association's Jamaican Grill Challenge Cup. She was the Golden Boot winner (most goals scored in the league) for the Guam Shipyard team in the spring of 2018. She has also won a Premier League championship with the NAPA Rovers women's club team in 2016 and a second-place finish with the Rovers as well.
She played on the Guam Girls' National Youth Soccer Team several times in Asian Federation Cup competition to include tournaments in Thailand, China, Hawaii, Hong Kong, and Vietnam.
Leon Guerrero won a total of seven high school championships for Notre Dame and also played high school volleyball, basketball, and rugby. She won two championships in volleyball and one IIAAG championship in rugby and had second- and third-place finishes in basketball for the Royals. She was named All-Island in volleyball.
The UOG Lady Tritons finished 12-3-1 in 2018-2019 and hope to play in the GFA Women's Premier League in 2019-2020.
