Women's Basketball signs Jacether Andrew from Pohnpei
The University of Guam Women's Basketball program signed a player from Pohnpei to a UOG Athletic Letter of Intent and partial tuition scholarship to play basketball for the Lady Tritons in 2019-2020.
Jacether Andrew has transferred from the College of Micronesia, where she played for two years against other college club teams from Chuuk, Yap, and other Micronesian Islands. She also played for the Pohnpei Women's National Basketball Team in the Micronesian Games in 2014 and 2018.
Andrew played high school basketball for Pohnpei Island Central High School (now Baily Olter High School) for four years, with the team winning the championship all four years in their three-team public school league.
The Lady Tritons will open the season at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 10, in the Calvo Field House. They will play an All-Star team from Guam National Women Master's Team.
