UOG soccer teams sweep competition in weekend games

The University of Guam Men's and Women's Soccer Teams both had victories on March
24, moving them closer to the championships of their respective amateur leagues.
The UOG Women's Soccer Team beat Team Mosas 5-0 and moved its record to 11-0-1 on
the season, and they lead the Guam Football Association Bud Light Amateur Women's
League by two games with three matches to go.
Elisha Benavente scored all five goals for the Lady Tritons, all five on breakaway
shots leading to a one-on-one with the Team Mosas goalie. The UOG squad has beaten
Team Mosas three times now in the season, all by 5-0 scores.

Benavente now has 20 goals on the season and leads the league in scoring.
The Lady Tritons play the Bank of Guam Strykers at 5:30 p.m. next Sunday, March 31.
The UOG Men's Soccer Team took on the Bank of Guam Strykers and came away with a 3-0
victory. The game was a wide open affair, with both teams up and down the field, but
the Tritons were able to keep the Strykers out of the UOG box and did not allow many
shots on goals.
Ichiyo Kawamata led the Tritons with two goals, and Hezekiah Cruz scored one goal
for UOG.
The Triton men's team moved its record to 12-1-0 with a 12-match winning streak. UOG
plays at 7 p.m. next Friday, March 29, against Guam Shipyard. The Tritons have a two-game
lead as well with three matches left on their schedule.
