The three new “Perpetual Choral Award” winners battle to wear the choir’s traditional Boar Necklace and Professor Randall Johnson looks on.

Three new Latte Tone singers were bestowed the honor of wearing the choir’s Boar Necklace at a concert last month. The honor is a tradition since 1992 for students who have been in the choir for eight semesters. Additionally, the students’ names have been added to a plaque as recipients of the “Perpetual Choral Award.”

The award was created by Professor of Music Randall D. Johnson and now has 41 students and former students who can claim the title. Many are now leading musicians and music educators in Guam.

The three students inducted in May were Aaron Tydingco, Rhojine Javinal, and Diane Lubas.
