Men's Soccer to face Beercelona in second round of GFA Challenge Cup by Jamaican Grill
The University of Guam Men's Soccer Team will face fellow Guam Football Association's Budweiser Men's Amateur League Team,
FC Beercelona, at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 10, at the GFA National Training Center in
the second round of the GFA Challenge Cup by Jamaican Grill.
FC Beercelona defeated Gino's FC (Master's League Team) 12-1 on May 4 in the open
round of the Challenge Cup at the GFA Complex. Beercelona went out to a 8-0 lead in
the first half and then finished off Geno's with a 4-1 score in the second half. The
Tritons had a bye in the opening round of the Cup as Amateur League champs.
UOG is 2-0 versus Beercelona during the Amateur League season, with the Tritons winning
9-1 and 7-2 during the regular season. With a win, UOG can advance to the quarter-finals
of the tournament.
UOG has a 15-1-0 record with a 15-match winning streak after losing its opening match
of the season. The Tritons will not have played since April 14, when they had a 3-2
victory over the Crushers FC to finish the Amateur League season.
